Steve Smith graduated from Edinburgh University in 1989.  He joined the Royal Navy in 1990 in which he still serves. After completing surgical and orthopaedc training in 2004 He was appointed consultant in May 2004.  He is fellowship trained in Spinal Surgery from Sydney Australia.
