Professional profile

​

Karl Trimble is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant with a specialist interest in surgery of the foot and ankle, with a sub-specialist interest in sports medicine & sports arthroscopy. 


Karl recently retired from the Royal Air Force, where he gained a broad experience in treating high functional demand sportsmen & women.


Karl completed international fellowships at the prestigious North Sydney Sports and Orthopaedic Medicine Clinic in Australia and at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol, working with Ian Winson, Past President of the European Foot and Ankle Society.


Karl holds a Royal College of Surgeons appointment, is a Board Member of the South West School of Surgery, is a member of the Regional Specialist Training Committees and is Day Case Lead departmentally for Trauma and Orthopaedics.


Karl has a strong teaching interest and is a Honourary Lecturer at Peninsula Medical School.
